D-Flat Studios was founded by Aaron Goh. D-Flat Studios specialises in Piano, Music Theory, Vocals and Musical Theatre and was voted Top 10 Best Piano Classes for Kids by theasianparent.com.
Aaron Goh (Piano and Vocal Coach) made his first singing and acting appearance when he was 11. In 2005 he was appointed vocal coach for Phua Chu Kang – the musical. Aaron has also worked with Universal Studios Singapore for Monsters Show, Wild Rice’s pantomime Beauty and the Beast (2009), Hansel & Gretel (2012), Monkey Goes West (2014 & 2016), and the cabaret musical – Beauty World.
Frances Lee (Vocal and Musical Theatre Coach) is a rising star in the theatre scene, picking up a string of theatre credits and nominations to her name. She was nominated for Best Actress for her performance as Helen in Pangdemonium’s Fat Pig (2014), as well as Best Supporting Actress for Checkpoint Theatre’s The Last Bull: A Life in Flamenco (2016) and her portrayal of Rosemary Joseph in Dick Lee’s Beauty World (2015). She clinched the award for Best Newcomer at the Stylexstyle Trailblazer awards.
Sook Nee (Piano Coach) holds the Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL) in piano performing. She is passionate about making her students build a solid music education by learning and playing the music that they love. Students are encouraged to discover different genres of piano playing – classical, jazz, movie soundtracks, pop songs etc. She believes that students are able to learn music that appeals to them as this will inspire them to love the piano and have fun!
Charis (Piano Coach) has been playing the piano for over 30 years and teaching for 5 years. She is a proficient accompanist and has been accompanying choirs and other soloists since 2004. She believes that learning music can be fulfilling and rewarding for everyone, and that age does not matter.
Benjamin Kirk (Piano Coach) has been teaching piano for over 10 years. As a seasoned accompanist and performer, he specialises in teaching piano for all ages, and teaches many students to play-by-ear, a D-Flat Studio’s proprietary method to help students recreate what they hear onto the piano.
Ruth (Piano Coach) is training to be a music therapist, and is dedicated to improving lives with music. One of her core motivations is her belief that music profoundly impacts the development of children and their intellect. She also recognises the effects it has on individuals with disabilities. In her spare time she volunteers at the Rainbow Centre for Special Education assisting in conducting classes for special needs children.
